Get to know Jennifer Byrom!

“I decided to start CrossFit because as I am getting older, I realized how weak my muscles have become, and I have no core strength. I was also tired of being so overweight and I knew I had to try something new. 

Before getting started I struggled with everyday tasks around the house due to having severe rheumatoid arthritis with multiple joint replacements and fusions. 

I was very weak, and my muscles were atrophying. I couldn’t even lift a gallon of milk (weights about 8.6 pounds) without help. I also needed help putting on my socks and shoes! 

I had no fitness routine before starting, I hadn’t done any exercise for over 35 years! But as I mentioned already, I knew I had to do something if I wanted to increase my strength! 

My first class kicked my butt. However, the endorphins kicked in and it was exhilarating! 

I kept coming back after the first class because I love the feeling of the endorphins, and I love the camaraderie and support our Master’s group gives each other!

I also love that the coaches can help you to modify the WOD (workout of the day) when you can’t do something because of physical limitations. The coaches really care about your overall well-being and desire to help you get and remain fit.
